About the Herb Loft


  • Where do you source your herbs?

    We grow, tend, harvest, dry, and process all our herbs on farm on the north fork of Long Island, NY. We are committed to supplying our community with the highest quality, certified organic medicinal herbs. Short of growing them yourself, you will not find fresher, more potent, or more mindfully grown medicinal plants anywhere. Our apothecary products are crafted using our herbs.

  • Are your herbs certified organic?

    Yes, Herricks Lane Farm, Herricks Herbs & Heirlooms Organic Nursery, and everything we grow here, is certified organic by NOFA-NY. 

  • How much is 1 ounce of dried herbs?

    Depending on the herb, 1 ounce (by weight) is approximately 1-2 cups by volume.  1 oz is approximately 32 teaspoon servings. .25 oz is approximately 8 teaspoon servings

  • How large are the mini packs?

    The mini packs are approximately ½-1 tablespoon (a single serving sample).

  • Do you offer curbside shopping of your products?

    Yes, purchase your items on our website and choose “local pick-up” at check out. Tell us the day you will be coming and we will leave your items in our self-serve driveway shed.

  • Do you offer larger (bulk) quantities of herbs?

    We are a very small scale farm, but we often have larger amounts available. Please inquire about larger quantities [email protected].

  • Which herbs do you grow?

    Please see our list of cultivated herbs and the dried herbs we have available for purchase. Please understand that mother nature is dynamic and not all herbs are available each season. 

  • How should I store my herbs and how long will they keep?

    Dried herbs store best out of direct sunlight in a stable temperature environment.  They should retain optimal freshness 6 months-year. Roots can stay potent much longer.

  • Can I buy fresh herbs direct from the farm?

    We occasionally have surplus. Please inquire about fresh herb availability and pricing [email protected].

  • Can I buy medicinal herb plants from your nursery?

    Yes, we feel strongly the best herbs are the ones you grow yourself and love connecting our customers to the earth via live plants.  Please visit out sister page covering the herb farm and nursery herrickslanefarm.com

  • Can I visit the apothecary at the farm?

    Currently we are only retailing our dried herbs through our online store front.

  • Can I visit the farm to see where the herbs grow?

Shipping and Payments


  • How and when do you ship items?

    We ship via USPS or UPS for a flat fee of $9.  All orders $75 and over receive a free upgrade to priority shipping. We pull and pack orders on Tuesdays.  All orders received by Monday will ship out that week. 

  • Do you offer any bulk or wholesale pricing?

    Producing the highest quality, small batch, certified organic medicinal herbs from seed to shelf is labor intensive to say the least, especially in the NY metropolitan area!  We welcome inquiries about larger orders, but currently cannot offer wholesale pricing. [email protected]


     

  • Do you ship internationally?

    At this time, we are only shipping our herbs domestically.

  • Do you ship within North America?

    Yes.

  • What is your return policy?

    Due to the nature of our products, we are unable to accept returns. We know you will be 100% happy with your purchase, but if for some reason your purchase does not meet your expectations, please reach out to us immediately so we can help resolve the issue.
